This is what Teton Valley is all about!
With the wide range of activities, breath taking views, and peacefulness that Teton Valley holds, it is amazing that it has been kept a secret for so long. Sitting at an elevation of 6200 ft, nestled amongst three mountain ranges, The Tetons, The Big Hole Mountains, and The Snake River Mountains, this small valley really is a little piece of heaven. Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole Ski Resort, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, and thousands of acres of spacious mountain terrain are a few reasons that people fall in love with Teton Valley. The sight of the magnificent Tetons will take your breath away with the Grand Teton reaching up to an impressive height of 13,770 ft. Any of these mountain ranges can be enjoyed by just taking in the beauty, or for those seeking a little more adventure, try a day hike on one of the many National Forest or Park trails.
Summer Pastimes in the Mountains
During the summer months in Teton Valley, it is almost impossible to stay inside. With the bright sun shining, it is only a question of which activity it will be today, and it's not an easy decision. The mountains harbor some of the best trails for both hiking or mountain biking, and the rivers in and around Teton Valley offer world class fishing not to mention the thrill of whitewater rafting. You can choose your adventure, whether it's golf, climbing, biking, hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, hot air ballooning, canoeing, or taking in the scenic beauty, when you are in Teton Valley the options are endless.
Snowy Winter Paradise
For those that are more interested in the winter months, don't go anywhere! Grand Targhee Ski Resort averages over 500 inches (42 ft) of the lightest snow around. National ski magazines rate Grand Targhee in the top three, year after year, for snow quality and quantity. They also boast the lowest ratio of skier to off trail powder acres in the country! Jackson Hole Ski Resort is famous for its immense terrain and steep vertical that will keep you going all day long. For those that don't spend your days at the ski resort, you can enjoy snowmobiling, dog sledding to Granite Hot Springs or a sleigh ride through a herd of Elk. The serenity and beauty of our area can also be explored on one of the many Nordic Ski Trails within Teton Valley or on our very own groomed Nordic trails. Not a skier, we have snow shoes available as well.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming
If you choose to venture into the "big city" of Jackson, you will find a mix of wildlife and western art galleries, abundant shopping and a wide array of fine dining options. The center shopping district revolves around the town square with its famous elk antler arches. Make sure you get there in time for the Western Shoot Out on the square where they reenact frontier justice. Providing that true western feel with wooden boardwalks, stage coach rides, country dancing and rodeos, Jackson "the last of the old West," is the perfect day trip.
